Be-you-tiful

Another scrappy accomplishment done a few weeks ago at the weekend crop!
I used the stamp set, Happy Thoughts, along with the NEW pigment inks.  I embossed the bird and sentiment in clear detail embossing powder.  I LOVE the new pigment inks for embossing.  For regular stamping, I'll admit, pigment inks are not my favorite - I'm way too impatient to wait on them to dry. (I know, I know, I could heat set it. . .)  For embossing though, these inks give GREAT color and they stamp beautifully! The small square size is really easy to work with too.

I really walked on the wild side when I stamped up this bird.  I stamped it in Lagoon ink first, and then dabbed the edges in Pacifica ink before embossing.  This DID leave a little Lagoon ink on my Pacifica pad, but not enough to matter to me, and I can probably just dab it off, if I take the minute to do it!   I LOVE the way the colors came together - it was totally worth the risk!

I embossed the white cardstock with an embossing folder (not from CTMH - GASP!) and the baker's twine was the perfect finishing touch!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Scrappy weekend accomplishments

The scrappy weekend in Jacksonville was a great success! (Especially because *I* got to be there to join in the fun, instead of just hearing all about it!)  I didn't get quite as much done as I had hoped, but I do have a few projects to share over the coming weeks.  On today's card, I used Hollyhock pigment ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder to give it a fun shine. I added the details with Bamboo marker, plus some fabulous wood and metal accessories. Some Chocolate Waxy Flax makes the perfect finishing touch.

I will definitely think lots of HAPPY THOUGHTS about my scrappy weekend getaway! (But mostly, about having four days with my scrappy mama!)

Black and White Cards

BLACK AND WHITE - Quick and Easy Cards!

All the cards below were inspired by Black and White designs along with the new Close To My Heart
"FOR ALWAYS" paper pack.  Once I started playing with this new paper, ideas just came together using a variety of products.  If you have any questions about these creations, let me know.  They are being offered first at my March Card Round Robin workshop and then at the Fort Myers Scraptique Weekend Crop in April.

This card was created using our new "For Always Cardmaking Kit" (the stamp and the paper) along with Black cardstock and Black Sparkles

This card was created with Slate and Black ink, Black cardstock, Sparkles, and the March Stamp of the Month "Floral Happiness".  The stamp set is only available during the month of March for $17.95 or ONLY $5 with a purchase of $50 or more.

This card was created with Black ink, Black cardstock, Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, White Daisy Die-Cut Cards, and the February Stamp of the Month "Home Sweet Home".  The stamp set is only available during the month of February for $17.95 or ONLY $5 with a purchase of $50 or more.
The card above was inspired by Darlys Recker.

The Card ABOVE AND BELOW
Lagoon cardstock and Black patterned papers  really make these cards pop.  Both cards use the new stamp set, "For a Friend" and paper from the "For Always" paper pack.  Above, add Silver Glitter Cardstock, For Always Textiles, and Black Button Assortment to complete your creation.  Below add Black cardstock and Sparkles to finish your card.

The design above was inspired by Nancy Durant

More of the beautiful "For Always" patterned paper and Whisper cardstock are certainly pleasing to the eye!  The stamp set is "Universal Background" that was stamped on Whisper cardstock.  Add a Black button from the Black Button Assortment and Black Tuelle Ribbon to complete your project.  You can add any sentiment stamp to the inside of your card.  Mass produce this card and have it ready for any event or thinking of you card.

The patterns in the new "For Always" paper pack are great for many cards!  This quick and simple card with a Whisper card base takes only minutes to create!  The greeting is stamped using Black ink and the stamp set is a wonderful addition to our sentiment line up.  It's called "Joyful Birthday".  Add the Black cardstock mat and a few Sparkles and you are finished!  Fast, simple, and pretty!

The last card was created from a design in the new "Chantilly Cardmaking Kit".  Instead of using the papers and colors featured in the kit, I took the card design and selected Black, Whisper, and Slate for my inks and cardstock.  The stamp set is from the kit, and the patterned paper is from "Love Always".  I also added Black Shimmer Trim (upper left) and Silver Glitz Glitter Gel on the cake and inside the flowers.
