Now Boarding!

Hello, hello! Happy weekend! I'm spending the weekend getting ready for the Paper Crafts magazine editorial board meeting in Utah! I leave bright and early Monday morning. . .which also happens to be my birthday. . . which also happens to be my wedding anniversary. . .it's going to be sort of a BIG day!  It will be the first time I've ever flown or traveled like this on my OWN - all by myself. I have to keep reminding myself I am a BIG GIRL and I can totally do this! {Especially since I'll be a year older!}

The card I'd like to share with you today, features Claire patterned paper, and one of my favorite stamp sets sets, called Sightseer - I'm loving it for trendy travel themed cards.  I stamped the images in Outdoor Denim ink, and I sanded the Claire patterned paper and cardstock strip, once I adhered it.  And this card just about used up the last of my wooden Mini Medley stash.  Those embellishments are so versatile, and easy to use!

Thanks so much for coming by today!!! Have a great weekend!

UR My Favorite {Whoo's Your Valentine}

Hello! I'm back today, as promised, with another non-Valentine card, using the Whoo's Your Valentine stamp set.

To create this card, I used Outdoor Denim, Gypsy, Sky, and Pear ink.  I stamped the squares, and then the heart over top the green one.  I finished it off with a sentiment, and some cardstock strips to tie it together.  Here's a hint I learned the hard way. . . .trim the squares, and THEN stamp them.  Trying to trim the cardstock straight and even around the stamped image is a lot more difficult, than just lining up your clear stamp onto an already trimmed square.  (Trust me.)  :)

I'll be back on Saturday with another post. . . three in one week!? Whew!

Whoo Rocks?

I have been playing with the Whoo's Your Valentine stamp set, and although Valentine's Day is LONG gone, there are still an awful lot of cute things you can do with this set! So if it's in your stash, pull it out and see what non-Valentine projects you can create! Here's one I'd like to share today!

I used Honey and Outdoor Denim ink, along with Tommy patterned paper to create this quick, and simple card. I LOVE the way the baker's twine bowtie finished off the big owl! This would be a cute card from a little boy to his daddy, don't you think!? (Or vice versa!)

I'll come back soon with some more non-Valentine projects, using this fun stamp set!

Dream Pop

While Susan has been busy this weekend at her crop, I have been busy playing with the Dream Pop paper pack that is available in May. I LOVE IT! The colors are so fun, they really pop. The shiny paper is very cool, too. It can be left as it us with the subtle shiny design, OR you can ink the paper. The shine will resist the ink, but the paper will absorb the ink to create more dramatic effects. Check out my samples below!

See the difference that inking the shiny paper makes? I did it on the Pinwheel card, too.
I used Lagoon ink to darken the paper. Possibilities are endless!

Surf's Up summer card

I'm not much of a surfer {wait, I'm not a surfer at ALL. Not in the slightest. As in "I've never even touched a surfboard"}. . .but giving my kiddos a place where they can DIG DIG DIG without me complaining about holes in our yard is plenty of reason for me to grab the shovels and head to the beach with my rowdy gang.

To create this card I did a lot of layering, sanding, and trimming.  The sentiment and waves are just trimmed right from the Surf's Up patterned paper. The wooden clothespin was a fun finishing touch.  I have used just about every last embellie from the wooden Mini-Medley Accents pack.  They've been perfect on just about everything I've made lately, and bare wood is becoming pretty trendy right now!

Lots and lots of texture and layers on this card, so it's definitely one for hand-delivering, or maybe tucking into a gift bag.
Thanks so much for stopping by! :)
